- Group activity: Budget inputs, expenses, and reimbursement amounts. Individual budget inputs are anonymized for other group members — only group totals are visible to others.
- Communications: Any information you submit when contacting support or providing feedback.
Information collected through your use of the platform
- Usage data: How you interact with the app, features used, session duration, and device information, collected to improve platform performance and user experience.
- Transaction data: Records of reimbursement transactions processed through the platform, including amounts, dates, and group identifiers. We do not store payment card or bank account details — all payment data is handled directly by our third-party payment processors.
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser or device type, operating system, and referring URLs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to maintain session state and improve user experience. You may adjust cookie preferences through your device or browser settings, though some platform features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
02 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve Farely’s budgeting, expense tracking, and payment features.
- Process and record reimbursement transactions through our payment providers.
- Maintain group anonymity features while enabling appropriate group-level transparency.
- Communicate with you regarding account activity, platform updates, and support requests.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, or other unlawful activity.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
- Enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
03 How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Payment processors: Transaction data is shared with third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe) solely to facilitate reimbursement transactions. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Service providers: We may share information with third-party vendors who assist in operating the platform, including hosting, analytics, and customer support providers. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Group members: Certain information — such as your participation in a group and group-level budget totals — is visible to other members of your group. Individual budget inputs and personal financial details remain anonymized.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Farely, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of Farely’s assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
04 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business necessity.

All data transmitted through the platform is encrypted in transit. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Farely is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. 09 Third-Party Links and Services
Farely may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or in connection with Farely.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email, with a revised effective date posted at the top of this Policy.
